Therapy in San Diego · English & Türkçe

For the times you did everything right, and life still didn't go right.

I'm Basak, a trauma-informed, attachment-focused counselor. I work with three groups: adults facing burnout, anxiety, or big life changes; healthcare professionals; and children with their parents. Sessions are warm, collaborative, and practical, so you leave with something you can use.

About me

A long road to this work, and it shows

Before I became a therapist, I spent 18 years as a healthcare executive. I led patient-access and revenue teams at academic medical centers, health systems, and physician groups, and I mentored a lot of people along the way.

That work put me close to the people who hold healthcare together, and I saw how much they carry. Medicine has also been part of my life since childhood: I'm the daughter of two physicians. Along the way, I also advocated for community mental health through the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention and the National Alliance on Mental Illness.

I went back to school and earned my master's in clinical counseling. Today I'm a registered Associate Professional Clinical Counselor. My business background shows up in practical ways: clear goals, steady follow-through, and a real understanding of work pressure.

Outside the therapy room, I've traveled to more than 50 countries, and I spend as much time as I can hiking with my husband and our two dogs.
